Pehlgam attack

National News: The green plains of Basaron, located near Pahalgam, a famous tourist destination in Jammu and Kashmir, suddenly shivered with a sudden echo of bullets. At least 12 tourists were injured in indiscriminate firing by unknown terrorists, while one died on the spot. The attack lasted for about three to five minutes and was escaped by terrorists. The horrors of the attack can be gauged from the fact that a female tourist who was injured in the attack said, "They asked me my name and religion, then shot me." This one sentence exposed the inhumanity of the attack.

Boil in political corridors

After the incident, there has been a stir in the entire political scenario. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha termed the attack as "cowardly" and assured to arrest the culprits soon. He said that he has talked to the Director General of Police and other top security officers and directed them to conduct a search operation immediately. He also ordered the district administration and health department to provide quick medical assistance to the injured.

Leaders expressed deep concern

Former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah described the attack as a "crime against humanity." He said, "I am shocked. This attack on our visitors is condemnable." Abdullah also informed that his party leader, Sakina has been sent to Itu Hospital to help the victims.

At the same time, PDP President Mehbooba Mufti strongly criticized this terror attack and said, "This violence is unacceptable and should be investigated intensely. The officials should review the security system flaws."

BJP said Pakistan sponsored conspiracy

The BJP described this attack as a part of "Pakistan-backed terrorism." Senior party leader Ravinder Raina said, "Terrorists who do not dare to fight our soldiers are targeting innocent tourists. They and those supporting them will soon be brought to the dock of justice."

Quick action of security forces

Soon after the incident, the Army's Victor Force, Jammu and Kashmir Police's Special Operation Group (SOG), 116 Battalion of CRPF and other forces started a search operation in the area. Officials confirmed that the attack took place in the plains of Basaron, not on Pahalgam-Doda Road, as reported initially.

An atmosphere of panic among tourists

Panic has spread in Pahalgam and surrounding areas after the attack. Many tourists are afraid of getting out of their hotels, and some have decided to return soon. The local administration has assured that the situation is under control, and additional security forces have been deployed throughout the region.

Attack or message?

Experts believe that this attack is not only violence but also a conspiracy to damage tourism in the valley. Terrorists want the calm atmosphere of the valley to be disturbed once again.

Security system again exam

The Pahalgam attack has once again forced us to wonder whether the safety of tourists is strong. Could this attack be stopped? The administration will have to answer these questions. Also, it has to be ensured that the tourists who turn to Kashmir do not remain in the shadow of fear but can experience peace and beauty.
